Crime

For several years he prosecuted in London for the CPS and DSS (now DWP) with a particular emphasis on cases involving forensic and scientific evidence. For the past two years has mainly conducted defence work in the crown court.  He has experience of both Divisional Court and Court of Appeal. Cases range from Drugs, Serious violence, Rape and other sexual assaults and Fraud.

Civil

He has wide experience of public law and public authority law, Highways, Education and Social services cases, often arising from or involving personal injury. He specialises in cases concerning the distinction between performance of statutory duty and the exercise of statutory discretion. He has had articles published in the New Law Journal and in Local Authority Law Journal. He has experience in High Court and County Court litigation including Chancery Division Cases arising from Property disputes. He has extensive experience of Land Law and the conduct of conveyancing transactions. He was a founding lecturer in 1984 of the first Training Course for prospective Licensed Conveyancers held at the then Southampton Institute, where he was a part-time lecturer.

In addition he has appeared at public enquiries usually concerning public law issues, ie a Planning Inquiry regarding Government Policy for the advancement of Single Faith schools.
