Practice

Specialises in the fields of Town and Country Planning, Local Government, Environmental and Highways Law. Has experience before the Civil Courts (including the Administrative Court) and before a range of tribunals and inquiries. Has particular experience in general and specialist housing, nursing homes, employment land, countryside issues, major transport issues, listed buildings, retail issues, sport and leisure developments, minerals and waste matters and a wide range of environmental issues. Acts for central and local government bodies both promoting and opposing development proposals and appears for developers.

Has significant experience on the planning and human rights implications of sites for gypsies and has provided accredited training on this and other subjects. Deals with enforcement issues including injunctions.

Advisory practice within the above fields, including on matters of pre and post application strategy. Has experience of advising local authorities upon various aspects of law relevant to local government bodies including judicial review, consideration of powers and duties, human rights and new initiatives.

Also has a wealth of experience in personal injury, fatal accidents, clinical negligence and other related professional negligence with a particular focus on complex medical issues. Has significant experience of Inquests.
